️ INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
PURPOSE
The two-component polyurethane adhesive ADEGRIP PVC is designed for gluing and repairing PVC products such as boats, kayaks, SUP boards, tarps, and covers. In combination with the catalyst, it forms a strong, elastic, and waterproof bond.
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surfaces must be clean, dry, and degreased.
It is recommended to use ADECO Cleaner 264 or pure alcohol/aceton.
Lightly sand the surface with very fine sandpaper.
Mark the area to be glued with a pencil to ensure the patch is placed accurately.
⚗️ PREPARATION OF ADHESIVE
Add 5-8% catalyst to the adhesive (5 ml included is sufficient for the entire amount of adhesive).
Mix thoroughly until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
After mixing, wait for 5 minutes (partial hardening).
Use the mixture within 3 hours.
ADHESIVE APPLICATION
1st layer: Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the damaged part of the boat and wait for 5 minutes.
2nd layer: Apply a thin layer to the patch and wait for 5 minutes.
3rd layer: Apply a thin layer to the patch again and let it dry for 5-10 minutes.
All layers should be very thin.
REACTIVATION OF THE ADHESIVE (for more demanding repairs)
Heat the surface with warm air (hairdryer or IR light) until the adhesive becomes lukewarm to the touch.
Do not overheat – the goal is reactivation, not drying.
GLUING
Precisely align the patch and press it firmly.
Release air bubbles with your thumbs from the center outward.
Use a roller or a piece of wood for better pressure.
Carefully remove excess adhesive with the cleaner.
DRYING / HARDENING
Allow the repaired product to rest for at least 24 hours before inflating.
Full curing is achieved after 72 hours – only then is it safe for exposure to water, sunlight, or use.
